Yorkshire Terrier Puppies in Southern California
AKC Champion Lines • In‑Home Raised • Companion Homes Only
Welcome to Essence of Grace Yorkies, a small, in-home Yorkshire Terrier breeding and showing program located in Orange County, California, serving families throughout Southern California and beyond.
Our program is built around thoughtfully selected AKC Yorkshire Terriers, including Champion and Grand Champion lines, with an emphasis on temperament, correct breed type, responsible health screening, and careful puppy raising and placement.
Many families join our waitlist before puppies are born. Applications remain open year-round for both current and future Yorkie litters, even when we already have families waiting.
Verified GoodDog Responsible Breeder — Meeting strict standards for health practices, in‑home care, and ethical AKC Yorkshire Terrier breeding in Southern California.
At Essence of Grace Yorkies, we raise traditional Yorkshire Terriers from carefully selected AKC lines. Our puppies are raised in our home with extensive hands-on care, early socialization, and individual attention throughout their first weeks of life.
Our breeding program incorporates genetic testing, health screening, pedigree evaluation, temperament, structure, and Yorkshire Terrier breed type as tools in making thoughtful breeding decisions.
Puppies remain with us until approximately 12 weeks of age and at least 2 pounds before transitioning to their new families. We believe those additional weeks are an important part of their early development and preparation for life as a companion.
Because every puppy is an individual, we do not guarantee a particular adult size, appearance, temperament, or future health outcome. Any estimates we provide are based on the information available to us as each puppy develops.

Why Choose Essence Of Grace Yorkies
AKC Champion Lines
Our breeding program includes AKC Champions and Grand Champions selected with careful consideration of pedigree, structure, temperament, breed type, and the qualities they may contribute to future generations.
12‑Week Go‑Home Policy
Our puppies remain with us until approximately 12 weeks of age and at least 2 pounds, allowing additional time for development, socialization, veterinary care, and preparation for the transition into their new homes.
Thoughtful Health Screening
Genetic testing and health screening are important tools within our breeding program and help guide our breeding decisions. While testing provides valuable information, it cannot predict or prevent every health condition that may occur during a dog's lifetime.
Upcoming Yorkshire Terrier Litter – Winter 2026
Abbey’s Third & Final Litter
We are excited to share that AKC CH Essence Of Grace Abbey Blazin’ Down The Road “Abbey” is currently in the breeding process for her third and final litter.
Abbey holds a very special place in our program as the daughter of our original foundation female, Ellie. This planned litter represents another generation of the Essence of Grace Yorkies line, and following this litter, Abbey will officially retire from our breeding program.
We use progesterone testing to carefully follow our girls’ cycles and help determine appropriate breeding timing. If this breeding is successful, we are hopeful for Yorkshire Terrier puppies arriving in December 2026.
Pregnancy has not yet been confirmed. Litter size, sexes, individual characteristics, and puppy availability cannot be predicted in advance.
We currently have families waiting for both males and females, but our waitlist remains open and we continue to welcome applications from families interested in this or future Essence of Grace Yorkie litters.
Current Yorkshire Terrier Puppy Availability
From time to time, we may have a carefully evaluated companion Yorkshire Terrier puppy available to an appropriate home.
Many of our families begin the application and waitlist process before puppies are born. Because litter size, sex, development, and individual puppy suitability cannot be predicted in advance, joining our waitlist does not guarantee a puppy from a particular litter or within a specific timeframe.
Not every puppy that may become available is immediately listed publicly. Families who have already completed our application process may receive priority consideration when we believe we have an appropriate match.
Applications are accepted year-round, including when we already have families waiting for both males and females.
How Puppy Placement Works
How Our Puppy Placement Process Works
At Essence of Grace Yorkies, we believe finding the right home is just as important as raising the puppy. Our placement process allows us to get to know prospective families while also giving families the opportunity to learn more about us and our program.
1. Complete Our Puppy Application
The application helps us learn about your household, lifestyle, previous dog experience, and what you are looking for in a Yorkshire Terrier.2. Get to Know Each Other
After reviewing the application, we continue the conversation through a video call or, for local families, an in-person meeting when appropriate.3. Join Our Waitlist
Families may join our waitlist for current or future litters. Being on our waitlist does not guarantee a particular puppy, sex, adult size, litter, or timeframe.4. Puppy Matching & Availability
As puppies develop, we evaluate their individual characteristics and communicate with our waiting families when we believe we may have an appropriate match.Applications are accepted year-round for current and future Yorkshire Terrier litters.
